the last of our nerdy tourist shots
Back in jolly ol' Londontown to considerably better weather (if you get past the constant downpour) and I am GLAD to be back. Wednesday night I overindulged in food and drink in the most serious of ways at the best restaurant in the world, seated next to the Queen of Denmark. That is a story for another day I am afraid. Hopefully I will be better able to reflect on the affair when more time is put between it and myself. Still recovering from the food coma.

Over the past week I have made it my mission to ruin most of josh's photographs. That got mildly dull so I started taking photos of him taking photos of touristy things. That was awesome.

I have to get ready for the best meal of my life, so I'll cut this short.

Jash and I decided to take some arty photos in our sweet hotel room. We topped that off with amazing hotdogs at the dop stand for breakfast. ALL ORGANIC, they are a taste sensation. I need to eat at least 3 more before we leave.

My 200th post. How is that even possible? Jash and I walked around looking at things and stuff. Pretending to be able to read or even begin to UNDERSTAND Danish. Never going to happen. Everyone here is so stylish and neat looking. Senior citizens ride their bicycles, everyone is on bikes! The bike-riding culture is very similar to Amsterdam // the Netherlands. These Danes are hardy folk, it is slushy, cold, and windy out and yet they still cruise around on their bicycles as if it were summer. I cannot imagine that in Edmonton.

Josh almost had a heart attack when his reservation at Noma got messed up. I could see the fear and disappointment in his eyes, however, being the suave silver tongued dandy man he is, he finagled a reservation later in the week. The Robbie Williams look-a-like maĆ®tre d’ suggested Fiskebar which turned out to be a taste sensation all on it's own.

His make-shift cake was a box of chocolates from the world famous chocolatier, Peter Beier Chokolade. It was incredible. I highly recommend the dark chocolate hearts, the dark chocolate chili flaked balls, and the dark chocolate pyramids. (Is there a pattern forming here? I love dark chocolate... anything milk seems like it's been watered down).

On the way to the fish bar, we seemed to have missed our turn somewhere and what should have taken 15 minutes took 45. The street signs are a little bit challenging to read in the dark, but the trek was WELL worth it. Check out these tasty treats:

(Food photos by Jash)

Like I said, Food Coma. There is a organic hot dog stand we have been planning to hit. It's amazing how similar the climate in Denmark is to Canada's. In the last photo I am actually standing on a dirt snow hill in the parking lot. Brought me back to mountain vacations where I would force Jash to take similar photographs of me on the tip top of snow hills looking like an adventurer. I miss home.
