Last Thursday Edmonton's style savvy gathered at the Art Gallery of Alberta for FLARE’s World Runway Tour in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s campaign: The Heart Truth. Typically, any cross-Canada tour bypasses the capital city in favour of Calgary; this time however, it appears the modern design of the art gallery was the perfect locale for such a major event.
As I walked into the sleek AGA illuminated in red, the signature shade of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, I was greeted with an elderflower infused sparkling water from Bottle Green and instructions to carry on to the third floor for an array of edible treats. Climbing the three flights of stairs was made gratifying by the line up of servers with mini burger sliders, smoked salmon hors d'oeuvres, and pink grapefruit martinis. Guests were even able to take a break mid-climb for a hair touch up courtesy of TRESemmé.
FLARE's Market Editor, Erin O'Brien, spoke of the latest A/W fashion trends to a sold out crowd, schooling us all on how to break down runway looks into wearable outfits. All clothes were provided by the newly renovated and fashion focused Southgate mall.
Attendees were treated to a year’s subscription to FLARE as well as a bag of swag including full size bottles of TRESemmé hair care and a variety of other beauty products.
With three dates remaining, I urge those living in Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City to attend. Get your tickets here.
