BEHIND STYLE: FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T CAUGHT UP YET

Firstly, grey lipstick and thigh high red boots, those two items are key for an eye popping fall look. Next, pair them with an oversized black t shirt that has been deemed a “dress” and the result might be a subdued edgy look. I clearly prefer to work in opposites when it comes to structuring my outfits. The rules are: there ain’t no rules. When I was wearing this, I kept imagining myself as an 80-year-old woman. One who would most likely be celebrated on Advanced Style, a favourite blog I frequent for inspiration. This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve tried to capture the essence of elderly elegance. Anyone recall my Advanced New Year’s Style? We all have our goals, this just happens to be one of my long term ones. What is the opposite of Advanced Style? Behind Style? Seems like it might be time for a rebrand. 😉

Consequently, I may not be the proper age for entrée into the Advanced Style club however, I think I may have figured out the next best thing. Maybe if I continue to wear this grey lipstick I can surpass that niche. One step beyond with one foot in the grave. My dad does like referring to this lipstick shade as “corpse.” Maybe I should embrace it. In the meantime, I’ll be caught in this stage of age limbo. A different kind of purgatory which involves me dying my hair pastel pink on a whim only to stay at home with a good book and tea. In conclusion, it appears that, like I mentioned before, working in opposites is kind of my thing.
